Road

I saw a man down a lonely road
A lit street where cars once rode
Two eyes and lips but no smile
Shirt and boat shoes yet no style
I called out but he was a stranger
He had no shadow, a lone ranger
I cried out asking his direction
He looked afar without hesitation
Clock was ticking and unwinding
Now, by the abyss we were standing
I saw a man down a lonely road
A lit street my soul once rode
